This was the fourth year the star-studded event, the Environmental Media Association Annual Awards, was held on New York Street at Warner Bros. Studios. The awards honorees included Hayden Panettiere and Matt Damon. Our objective was to repurpose and reuse “with style.” The stage featured a nine-by-nine-foot, 900-pound chandelier that has been lovingly dubbed by everyone at Warner Bros. as Big Bertha. Grandfather clocks, old books tied with twine, and rustic wood tables served as stylish repurposed décor throughout the event. The awards were followed by an evening under the stars among lavishly draped stations with a variety of dishes offered by Los Angeles’ best restaurants, and gifts from environmentally conscience companies including The Nature Conservancy and Burt’s Bees Cosmetics.
